Wooden box lacquered and gilded with gold leaf which was meant to keep the sacred books in a monastery. These boxes were offered during Buddhist ceremonies, usually the novitiate, by wealthy families.
It consists of three parts, the box, its lid and an inner tray.
We find traces of the manufacturer's stamp.
67 cms in length, 20 cms in height, 24 cms wide, for a weight of 30 kgs.
In fairly good condition, some local restorations, small missing pieces, age and use marks (see pictures) but the object is stable and solid.
It will be carefully packaged and shipped with insurance and tracking.
