Ndoye Douts, born in 1973 in Sangalkam, Senegal. He lives and works in Paris.
A graduate of the National School of Arts in Dakar, Mouhamadou Ndoye Douts recreates in his work the chaotic world of African cities. Medina, the neighbourhood where he lives and works, is his main source of inspiration. He has a taste for detail and his brush has an allusive force reminiscent of the style of the expressionists. Human silhouettes are deliberately suggested by blurred, neglected contours.
Exhibited in Beaubourg in 2005 at the Africa Remix exhibition, Douts is
also a videographer and was awarded for an animated film: “Train-train Médina”.
