Léonard Frédéric Nardin (* 1792) was the first watchmaker of the family. His son Ulysse (1823-1876) founded a watch factory in Le Locle, Switzerland in 1846. After the sudden death of its founder, it specialised, among other things, in ship chronometers under son Paul David who had not yet turned 20. It received many awards for them.

White enamel dial signed by Ulysse Nardin Locle Swiss 123807. The dial is in very good condition. Roman numerals and blued hands. Minute scale with Arabic multiples of 5. Large second hand in the middle.
Screwed back lid (H.S. arrow 2 on the outside) inside is bird hallmark + company sign Ulysee Nardin + FFBA2 + 0.925, 619070.
The finest, fire gilded factory movement built in-house (top quality), high-quality movement design - anchor escapement - chatons - special fine regulation. The same number as on the dial 123807 - marked with Ulysse Nardin Swiss.
Watch diameter without crown: 56 mm. With crown: 73 mm. Height: 12 mm. Weight: 131 g.
Original box: 97 x 123 mm - height 62 mm.
The watch is in very good overall condition. A rarely offered observation watch in a sterling silver case.
