Complete series of 24 gapers from the 'Golden Gaper' series consisting of different sizes
(6-7 cm), made of high-quality resin material. The gapers are equipped with a number at the bottom. New, in original packaging, with booklets!
A gaper served as an advertising sign for pharmacists to attract customers, but also as a quality indicator of the shop. This sign was initially placed on the door canopy, but from the 17th century onwards it was more often attached to the facade. This was particularly common in Amsterdam (NL). The open mouth of the gaper is not to yawn, but to take medication. The grimace of many gapers can be explained by the fact that the drug tastes bad, at least that is the prevailing view.
This beautiful collection is in excellent condition and will be carefully packaged and shipped.
