Beautiful sculpture by Richard Di Rosa, French sculptor, international artist. He creates his own universe through his works, colours and particular shapes. He is particularly inspired by African culture, music and animals.
Unique work, sent carefully protected, with insurance and the gallery certificate of authenticity.
Painted resin sculpture, quite light considering its large size!
Richard Di Rosa, born on 23rd March 1963 in Sète, is a French sculptor, member of the French Free Figuration movement with his brother Hervé Di Rosa, Rémi Blanchard, François Boisrond, Robert Combas and Catherine Viollet. "Free figuration" refers to the revival of painting in the 1980s, an uninhibited painting often borrowing from comics, rock and graffiti. He is the only member of the movement to practice sculpture.
Although at the very beginning of his career this self-taught art artist mixed his particular vision with his brother’s, he very quickly created a universe of his own. The colour, the round and playful shapes of his characters testify to an aesthetic closeness to Joan Miro or Max Ernst.
African culture, music and animals (his Hens in particular) are all themes of inspiration for the artist. His works can be seen at the Cité de la musique in Paris, at the Paul-Valéry Museum in Sète.
Exhibited in the United States in 1983, he pursued an international career in Ghana, Belgium, Thailand, Korea, Colombia and the Netherlands.
