Emblema/mascotte/placca - Lévrier - Lincoln - 1910-1920
An extremely rare radiator mascot for a Lincoln vehicle (USA, 1910/1920).
A symbol of top-of-the-range "made in the USA", the brand of American presidents... the fabulous Lincoln brand is an essential part of the history of the automobile on the other side of the Atlantic! It was created in Detroit in 1917.
It is the greyhound, an allegory for speed, which was featured on many of the vehicles of the time, particularly the L, K and Zephyr models.
The mascot is made of nickel-plated bronze and mounted on an authentic Lincoln radiator cap.
The nickel plating is partly faded but the bronze is perfect, no pitting, no breaks and not the slightest sign of restoration. The mascot is superb and in perfect original condition.
The hollowed out wooden base allows the mascot to sit perfectly no matter in which direction it is displayed.
