Pieter Johannes Alexander Wagemans was born on 25 August 1879 in the Hague - and died on 30 August 1955 in the Hague.
Wagemans lived and worked in the Hague. He was initially a home and decorative painter, later he became a full-time painter. He was known as a livestock painter but also made many cityscapes of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, several of which were forged. Some of his works bear the signature Klinkenberg (a then much more expensive painter). Pieter Scheen was then a frequent buyer of his work.
