Unica e antica panchina del tram di Amsterdam (1910)

Unica e antica panchina del tram di Amsterdam (1910)
Paesi Bassi - 1900-1949 - Legno, Teak, Acciaio

In the years 1900-1905 the first electric trams in Amsterdam started running, using the former horse tram carriages as side-cars. There was a need for side cars specially built for the electrical service. The first series of twenty side cars was delivered by Werkspoor in 1910. These cars had cross benches (which were common at the time), the backrest of which could be folded in the direction of travel. The carriages proved too heavy as a passenger car, were converted into motor vehicles, remained in use until 1956 and were then destroyed. Only one carriage was preserved (the CFP-307).

One of the old ones (from 1910!) and rare benches from this series of cars is offered here! Origin: Den Hartogh Ford museum, Hillegom, The Netherlands

The bench must be picked up, but in consultation the seller can arrange transport if necessary.

Heavy in weight, beautiful industrial design, an unique item with a long history and a story! A great opportunity to bring a piece of Amsterdam history and a beautifully designed bench into your home!
