Superb unique work by Jerome Mesnager
Painting on canvas with the integration of a mechanism of an old train.

Jérôme Mesnager started the Boulle school in 1974, where he trained as a cabinetmaker and where he later taught. In 1979, he attended Georges Pichard and Yves Got comics classes.

He is one of the founders (1982) of Zig-Zag, a group of ten very young artists who decided to occupy the street by drawing graffiti and, also, to occupy briefly, time for an artistic performance, abandoned factories.

On 16th January 1983, he invented the Man in White, a symbol of light, of strength and peace. Jérôme Mesnager has reproduced this white figure worldwide, from the walls of Paris to the Great Wall of China.

In 1990, Jérôme Mesnager left his childhood home, place of his meetings with Jean-Pierre Le Boul'ch, headquarters of his associations, workshop of his first works, to move into the 20th arrondissement of Paris. He exhibited a series of stockades related to the theme of fighting at the Loft Gallery, which publishes a catalogue.

In 1995, he created a large wall painting, rue de Ménilmontant, in the 20th district of Paris, ‘C'est nous les gars de Ménilmontant’.

Jérôme Mesnager is often associated with Némo, whose favourite character is the black silhouette of a man in a raincoat wearing a hat. In this capacity, he accompanied the Parisian urban art movement (Blek le rat, Miss.Tic, Jef Aérosol, Némo, etc.) and Figuration Libre in the early 1980s
