Pointillistic still life on the summer terrace was executed in the early 20th century by Russian female painter-emigrant Sonja Routchine-Vitry (in Russian Соня Ручина). She was born in Odessa in 1878, died in Paris in 1931, representative of the Russian School of Paris. Studied in Paris by F.Jumbert and G. Adler. Participated at the exhibition "Woman today" in the gallery J.Charpentier (1924) , in the Salon of French artists (1923), Autumn Salon de Paris (1926) and other collective exhibitions. In 1924 and 1929, she was awarded with two silver medals. The painting "Girl in the lace shawl" was purchased by the Luxembourg Museum in Paris. Known is her miniature on ivory " Portrait of the Tsar's mother Maria Feodorovna with her son, the later Tsar Nicholas II of Russia".
