CRETACEO- Cretaceo inferiore (100,5-145,0 milioni di anni) - Mongolia

Beautiful set of 10 Oviraptor eggshells in their display boxes. The Oviraptor is an extinct genus of dinosaurs. Oviraptors lived during the Cretaceous in the Mongolian and Chinese regions.
Only incomplete skeletons of Oviraptors have been found. Because of this, the exact appearance of the animal is uncertain. What is certain, however, is that Oviraptors looked like a bird and was related to birds. Oviraptors were hot-blooded and had plumage. Their claws were quite large and they walked on their hind legs and had a beak. It is not known with certainty what they ate. Because the first fossil of an Oviraptor was found in a nest, it was thought to steal eggs, hence the name "egg thief". It was later determined that the nest with eggs must have been of the Oviraptor itself. Complete Oviraptor eggs are very rare and very expensive. Individual eggshells are becoming rarer. My dealer has full eggs. Some eggshells are black or grey. Eggshells have fine ridges as can be seen in the photos. The eggshells have not yet been cleaned. Various dimensions, from 10 mm to 20 mm
