Large Box in woven and lacquered bamboo, used to bring the novice’s monastic dress, when entering the monastery. Region of Bagan, Burma, middle of the 20th century. 13.5 cm high by 44.5 cm of diameter.
The Burmese inscription explains that this box was offered by Mr. Nay Don and his daughters, to his nephew.
Fair condition for an object of daily use from that period, bearing the traces of its use, the lid was re-lacquered, as well as some parts of the box (have a look at the pictures).
It will be carefully packaged and sent by insured mail with track & trace, via Bpost.
