Traditional object of daily life from Burma, this coconut grater in a zoomorphic form is very decorative, beautiful carving, much more complex than it seems.
The grating part, in hammered iron, is probably not original.
Heavy and dense wood, 2.7 kilograms.
47 cm long, including the grating part.
Traditionally, this object is used by children who sit on it and scrape the inside of a coconut with the grater, in order to recover the flesh.
Good condition, but it presents the traces related to its age and use (have a look at the pictures).
It will be carefully packaged and sent by insured mail with track & trace via Bpost.
