Polidoro Caldara was a famous Italian mannerist renaissance painter. His Mythological scenes and figures were the source of many engravings. Hendrick Goltzius made his famous series of the large Eight Gods, Eight Deities after him.
Engraving from 1590-1600 in reverse after the engraving of Cherubino Alberti ( 1553-1615) made in 1590.
Could be made in the same atelier.
Published in 1590-1600.
The size is 145 mm x 160 mm. The square image is about the same size and the same style as the original engraved by Cherubino at the same date.

In excellent condition, very good dark early impression of this rare engraving with the ruling lines for engraving the text still visible (only by early impressions).
Some traces of aging not disturbing.
Printed on thin laid paper, image complete with narrow margins.
