Ancient Wraparound Skirt from the Akan ethnic group
The Akan are spread between Ivory Coast and Ghana.
This wraparound skirt comes from the Baule ethnic group, exclusively established in Ivory Coast.
The wraparound skirt is woven in a traditional way, the bands measure about 10 cm wide and are then sewn together.
Ancient and usual wraparound skirt that I collected in a Baule village.
We can sometimes note traces of wear, some partially unstitched bands, dyes which slightly faded off over the years.
The pictures are part of the description.
