Wonderful patina of a dark honey colour.
The Teke or Bateke form a Bantu population of central Africa, spread over three states: Gabon, the Republic of Congo (Congo-Brazaville) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Congo-Kinshasa).
An important part of the population is established in the region of Pool Malebo (former Stanley-Pool), along the Congo River, near Kinshasa and Brazzaville.
Successors of the Pygmies in the occupation of Congo, they are the founders of the big and powerful Teke Kingdom, rival of the Kongo Kingdom.
This Teke fetish with a wonderful patina is of beautiful elegance.
Origin: Teke ethnic group; DRC, former Zaire.
