A wooden container, carved out of one single piece of wood. The main corpus is held by four ancestors and decorated with typical Dogon patterns. The lid can be taken off and is topped with a four sided Janus head. It is used to keep herbs and other ingredients in a secure place.
The Dogon people live in the Bandiagara Cliffs in the centre of the country. They are known for the rich cultural heritage. Their art often shows agricultural symbols or respect for the elder people.
