Maruhei doll: Founded in Kyoto in 1779, Maruhei has been one of the most influential doll makers in Japan.
Takenouchi no Sukune was the son of the Princess Kagehime and the grandson of the Imperial Prince Hikofutódhimakoto no Mikoto. Also a descendent of the Emperor Kōgen.
Takenouchi no Sukune served five legendary emperors, Keikō, Seimu, Chūai, Ōjin et Nintoku, but is perhaps best known for his service as Grand Minister to the Regent Jingū with whom he invaded Korea.
In addition to his military service for these emperors, he also had the reputation of being a saniwa (oracle).
He is a legendary figure that is said to have drunk every day from a secret well which allowed him to live to the age of 280.
