Phurba of the Newar of the plains of western Nepal. These shaman's sticks serve to protect men and ward off the evil spells of life.
At the top of this phurba are two riders. The faces of these are very rough and their hands are joined on their chests. Three faces appear on the base that supports the riders. Then, a column with geometric decorations, ends with a character with a large nose decorated with a spiral. Then there is the traditional triangular base of the phurba, which features various geometric patterns
Hardwood with a brown patina of use, traces of clay in the low relief of the sculpture.
