Large Mask of a Shaman, from the Newar who live in the hills of western Nepal.
The forms of the face are cubist, the eyes and mouth are square or rectangular. Apparent teeth. The coin in the middle of the forehead reminds the Tika of the Hindus. The hair is depicted by goat skin, tied on the summit of the head. The moustache and the beard are depicted by horse hair.
Very old light-weighted wood with a dark brown patina of wear.
