Sculpture depicting an elephant driven by a mahout.
This object comes from the entrance of a Jain temple in the Rajasthan province, more precisely in Jodphur.
In this region, the Jain temples are destroyed every 200 to 300 years to be rebuilt by the caste.
This elephant was placed above a door to the left and right and inserted by its tenon into the wall.
Late 18th century // C. 1775
Item collected by the owner of the rambagh at the end of the 1990s.
Item in good condition of preservation, some lacks visible on the photos.
Original polychromy preserved.
