To fight the wrath of the gods, the ‘shaman priests’ of the Bön, the Bönpos, complete complex rituals and ceremonies. They serve as a medium between spirits and men. The rites they perform are different in each region of Tibet, because each place is inhabited by a particular spirit which is an integral part of the daily life of the inhabitants of the region, and to whom offerings and sacrifices are made.
