Description
Gorgeous and nicely carved sculpture of possible mahakala
This jewelry is part of the craft of the Yao people.
In order to occupy their time and to learn the technique of sculpture, the yao uses the bones of animals such as chicken, goat, ...
in order to carve jewels, pendant or sculpture which have for them an animistic consonance.
The description of Yao religion is similar to the definition of Chinese folk religion as described by Arthur Wolf and Steve Sangren. Scholar Zhang Youjun takes issue with claims of "strong Buddhist influence" on the Yao, arguing that "although Yao ritual texts contain Buddhist expression, the Yao do not believe in Buddhism at all.
They are resolutely Taoist.
This pendant is nicely carved and polish and can be a nice ethnic pendant only one like this for people who want single object.
