Perline di guscio d'uovo di struzzo (6) - Guscio d'uovo di struzzo - Fulani - Mali

6 Strings of beads made of the shell of ostriches; three ropes are made of the natural coloured eggshell and three are dyed with a copper-based dye.
These particular beads were often worn as a fertilitycharm by Fulani-women. Nowadays these kind of beads are difficult to find.
Lenght of the ropes vary between 33 and 35 cm (half size) for the natural ones. These discs are apprx. 5 mm wide and 1 mm thick.
The green ropes are between 31 and 34 cm ( half size). These discs are apprx. 8mm wide and 1 mm.
Collecten in Mali in the 1990's.
