The stone is massive but the carving is fairly delicate.

Guanyin is the Chinese form of the Buddhist deity Avalokitesvara, one of the most revered bodhisattvas who has undergone a feminization under the Songs, undoubtedly under popular pressure. She helps all beings on earth to attain enlightenment.
