Important and rare (because of the size) statuette of the Buddha in a seated position known as the taking of the earth as a witness. This position is called the position of the taking of the earth as witness, or also the position of the Buddha repelling the armies of Mara (Bhumisparsa Mudra), in reference to the episode where Buddha repels the temptation of the three daughters of Mara (demon personifying the terrestrial passions).
Sculpture in direct carving in purple, green and colourless fluorite. The multiple internal fractures of fluorite animate the character according to the exposure to light.
