Cassandre (1901-1968):

Cassandre, who was the unchallenged leader of the French poster artists during the interwar period, remains today the most famous and renowned graphic artist of this period worldwide: collectors are fighting over his original posters for fortunes. With only rare exceptions, the hundred or so posters he created between 1925 and 1935 feature a strength and an impact contrasting with those even created by his most talented competitors.
