Large Primitive Buddha from Laotian caves, late 19th century.
Of 58 cm high, this sculpture in teak wood represents Buddha sitting on his throne, taking the Earth as witness.
Beautiful details, magnificent face, the wood, eroded over the centuries, presents a wonderful patina.
The sculpture was placed in caverns in which Buddhist monks and followers came to pray.
+/- 10 kilograms.
With a few lacks, breaks and cracks.
Authentic.
