Very rare and almost impossible to find.
Gorgeous alloy probably in bronze, copper, silver and tin of the Buddha in a reclined position from the Shan period.
Sculpture belonging to the Tai Yai ethnic group (Shan region) Burma, 18th century.
An important iconographic and statuary motif in Buddhism; it represents the historical Buddha about to enter into parinirvâna. Lying on his right side, he rests on a cushion and leans on his right elbow, holding his head in his hand.
Very beautiful, serene and smiling face. Beautiful details.
Very special sculpture!
A gorgeous piece for the collector.
Good condition as a whole, some pieces missing.
