Very beautiful court epee from around 1850, complete with leather sheath. An epee of a senior court official under the rule of Leopold I (military) 1790-1865
The epee is in a beautiful antique state.
Condition: no loose or broken parts.
The hilt is beautifully decorated with curls, tendrils and flowers. Beautifully unworked guard with in the heart a coat of arms, on both sides of the crossguard a chameleon, these are gilded.
A triangular steel blade, no rust.
The twisted horn handle is in good condition, also the gold windings are in good condition.
The copper/brass frames of the leather sheath are engraved. The leather of the sheath is in very good condition.
In short, a beautiful epee from the time of Leopold I.
