An apsara, also spelled as apsaras, is a type of female spirit of the clouds and waters in Hindu and Buddhist culture. In Indian mythology, apsara are wonderful, supernatural female creatures. They are youthful and elegant, and they have excellent dance skills. They are often spouses of the Gandharva, Indra's court musicians. They dance to the music of the Gandharva, usually in the palaces of the gods, they entertain and sometimes seduce gods and people.
