Omega - Vintage watch Rose Gold 18K - "NO RESERVE PRICE" - 121009 - Uomo - 1950-1959

Brand: Omega Model: Vintage Classic Hand-wound movement; Calibre: Omega 269 Case and case back in 18 kt yellow gold Case diameter: 37 mm (incl. crown) White dial in excellent condition Original Omega crown New brown leather strap Strap measurements: 85 × 115 mm (incl. clasp) Strap width at the case: 18 mm The watch has been serviced by a professional watchmaker. Box and papers not included. Will be carefully packaged and sent via insured and registered mail by FedEx. This Omega timepiece bears no engravings on the case back - not even the usual engraving - due to the prohibition on importing gold during the time of the fascist dictatorship in Portugal (1933–1974). The dictator Salazar forbade gold or golden objects from entering Portugal because the Portuguese state retained significant reserves of high-quality gold (18 karat, 0.750). This meant that prestigious watch manufacturers, including Omega, would send the watch mechanisms, while the cases were manufactured in Portugal.
