An Exceptional group of books dealing with Samurai Armour and related metalwork + a book of Kuniyoshi's prints of 16th Century Samurai.
1. 'The Hartman Collection of Japanese Metalwork', Christie, Manson & Woods Ltd., London 1976. A very rare catalogue of an important sale. In 'Very Good' condition with shelf-wear to cover.
2. 'Armes Japonaises dans les Collections Francaises', Galerie Robert Burawoy 1977. Another famous exhibition, and rare catalogue. In 'Very Good' condition. The Dust-cover is repaired and is now covered with a plastic (removable) cover.
3 & 4: Christie's London, 'The Kamakura Period to the Edo Period', 1996, and 'Japanese Works of Art' 1997. Both catalogues contain important Samurai fittings (see photos).
5. 'Das Schwert des Samurai' Stuttgart 1979, Exhibition catalogue.
6. ' Heroes of the Grand Pacification' Kuniyoshi's 'Taiheiki eiyu den', Elena Varshavskaya, Hotei Publishing, Amsterdam, 2005. A book honouring the Samurai involved in the final years of the 16th Century Civil War.
