Screen printing is a fine example of the old-fashioned craftsmanship of both the designer and printer. Each star is hand-cut and precisely aligned by the designer. Then each colour was photographed separately and put on film.
This screen print is included in the collection of Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in 2018. Is in the catalogue "The 67th Art Directors Annual" (ADC) (see the photos).
Lepair (1940 – 2012) designed book covers and album covers (Philips, Phonogram). He worked with Total Design, won in 1994 Merit Award ADC (Art Directors Club NY), 2nd Prize in 1988, and is in 7 Grapic Design Annuals.
American jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker recorded "Star Eyes" for Verve Records in 1951. The song is considered a jazz standard.
