Young lady stands before flowering plum blossoms. Contrasting with the detailed finish of the trunk, the twisted branches of the plum tree draw from the cursiveness of Japanese ink painting. With her eyes fixedly locked before her and the uprightness of her posture the model's pose reveals a sense of confidence. Throughout the tradition of ukiyo-e red is often associated with the erotic. The rich red hue of her lips, echoed by the the deep scarlet strip of her outer robe and plum blossoms, all suggest the model's inherent passion and seductiveness.
