A young woman who fell asleep while reading. A cat is gazing at her dream emerging above her head at the top of the print.
Within the dream, a bandit is seemingly trying to steal the clothes of a man who could be the woman's lover. She is visibly embarrassed, covering her eyes. The bandit is depicted as excessively hairy, animal-like with ill-fitting clothes. His animal-like qualities could be an allusion to the cat.
The series depicts dreams of various people, giving the viewer an insight into the culture and everyday-life of Japan in the Edo period.
