Statue representing a dancing nat, the nats are spirits venerated in Burma since antiquity, in parallel with Buddhism.
It is a "good" nat, who was placed in a temple located near Mount Popa, the most important place of pilgrimage for nats, located 50 km from Bagan.
This large statue is very beautiful and very elegant, bearing many original colours. Circa early 20th century.
Height 84 cm, width 17.5 cm, 94 cm with the base.

Nats are omnipresent in Burma, they are found near pagodas and temples, where they are venerated, just like Buddha. They are thus present at the Shwedagon Pagoda, in Rangoon, which is nevertheless one of the most sacred places in Buddhism.
Good condition for an object of this age, cracks (see photos).
