Very special trench art liberation Friesland.
From these two casings they have made vases with at the top shapes of flower leaves.
On one a Canadian leaf is depicted with the date 15 April '45, this is the moment friesland was liberated from the Germans by the Canadians. This is a British 25 pounder with lot number 101 and the year 1944.
On the other shell there are no years or other marks, but it is a shell from the second world war.
The shell with the leaf has a height of 23 cm and a diameter of 10 cm, the other one has a height of 19 cm and a diameter of 9 cm.
Please take a good look at the pictures for a good impression of this lot.
