Ritual Spoon, Guro culture, Ivory Coast Height: 25 cm.
Elegant and rare ceremonial spoon in wood from Ivory Coast. The handle is topped by the representation of an animal mask, a Zamble mask. The whole is well-composed, the mask and the oval volume of the bowl combine well. The sculpture is refined and delicate. The mask is reduced to its most simple expression, accentuating its geometric construction. Custom-made stand. A beautiful ancient and authentic piece of collection. Around 1940.
