Quite a large and heavy shield used during tribal warfare but also for important rituals and ceremonies during dance.
such a large shield was carried by a strong warrior leader who positioned himself between his warriors behind him and the enemy. Warriors could hide behind shield bearer during the attack and make sorties without being in constant danger themselves. The warrior leader moved forward, sideways or backward according to the progress of the battle.
A unique shield with a rare pattern probably symbolising the large rivers and small creeks in their swampy region
