Henri Cassiers (Antwerp, 11th August 1858 - Elsene, 27th February 1944) was a Flemish artist, mostly known for his applied art: illustrations, posters, wall plates and print maps, with often a maritime impact.
Cassiers’ style lent itself perfectly for publicity purposes and he was especially sought after by tourist destinations and shipping companies. He was best known for his work for the Red Star Line. From 1898, he made many posters, postcards, menus for this scheduled service ...
