The Songola danced with rather large, flat masks.
Our smaller flat copy was used a cabin (wall) mask (see the very high attachment holes!).
It was kept by the " Nsubi " society, along with the enormous "execution" mask , and rarely shown to outsiders.

Semi hard wood type.
Slightly crusty, black patina and white painted parts.
Sanding wear and tear on the edges, forehead and nose.
Some insect damage.
Hairline crack, centrally under the mouth.
Patinated, matt inside.
Two very high attachment holes.
Extremely rare specimen of a small ethnic Congo group!
