The masks of this small ethnic group are all gems of formal simplicity.
The concave , heart shaped face was coloured white/black and bordered with a red strip.
It was danced with during the initiation ceremonies within the "Bwete" cult.

Traces of blue pigment to triangle on the temples.
Rub wear on the higher parts and sides.
A lot of paint flakes to the white portions.

Made by the previous owner for suspension.
Polished and patinated inside.
