A very finely carved djati hardwood sculpture of a man letting his prize sabuh out of the special wicker cages in which prize roosters are kept for the tajen tradition of cockfighting. Although technically illegal since 1981, the practice is so interwoven with Balinese culture that authorities do little to enforce the ban.
This sculpture shows the craftsmanship of the artist, having carved the entire group from a single block of wood.
Condition: Very good, no damages or repairs.
