Rare Mid 1900s Tommy Moore Navajo Jewellery, Large Turquoise Cross Pendant.
Made by renown Navajo silversmith, Tommy Moore. Moore typically works with turquoise and on a smaller scale, making this piece truly extraordinary and rare considering the different types of stone and size of the cross.
From what can be determined, the stones include: Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, Kingman Turquoise, Red and Yellow Spiny Oyster Shell, Red Coral, Onyx, Sugilite, Lapis, and Agate. The centre stone that of Amethyst or Gaspeite.
Every stone is bezel set and firmly in place, with silver drop details in between the cabochons.
The cross measures 13.5 cm x 7.5 cm x 0.5 cm. The large bale measures 2.5 cm in diameter and is adorned with Tommy Moor's quintessential stamp details.
Signed "TOMMY MOORE STERLING" with the artist's hallmark, ensuring the .925 sterling silver quality.
