Georges D'Espagnat (1870-1950) - La femme du peintre dans un intérieur
Georges d'Espagnat trained by himself and drew at the Louvre, after the ancient. He started at the Salon des Indépendants in 1902 and was one of the founders of the Autumn Fair the following year.
He is linked to many artists: Bonnard, Vuillard, Valtat, Signac.
D'Espagnat exhibited in the Durand-Ruel and Druet galleries and then in most cities in Europe and in the United States.
His art mixes historical compositions with scenes of genre and intimacy where his intimate character naturally takes him, his figures a little blurry, his refined colours, mauves, roses and grey with melting tones.
