Albert Mulder was born in Maastricht and was a student of the City Drawing Institute there. Then studied at the Rijksnormaalschool in Amsterdam and at the Rijksacademie. Lived and worked in Maastricht, Amsterdam and after 1923 in Naarden. Traveled to Germany, Belgium, Spain and France. Obtained 3x the Royal Subsidy. Painted and drew in a more or less realistic manner landscapes, figure compositions, portrait and still lifes. Also made wall paintings. Was a member of the Independents and St. Lucas in Amsterdam and Van de Ver. for B.K. Laren-Blaricum. A.o. work in the Goois Museum in Hilversum.
Expressive portrait, from the painter mentioned above, in a beautiful antique frame, in good condition.
The painter wanted to depict the gentle, almost maternal look. I think he did very well, he also reflected the tenderness in his eyes quite well.
