Antique embroidered gold Japanese kimono robe from the early 20th century made from pure silk.
The kimono is embroidered with the crane bird, which represents good fortune and longevity. The crane is also associated with Japanese New Year and wedding ceremonies due to cranes being monogamous. This kimono is therefore very grand and ceremonial.
The fabric is off-white ivory colour pure silk fabric with heavy embroidery of crane bords and flowers in multiple colours all over.
The colours are very beautiful and varied, including orange, rose gold, purple, white and red.
Embrodery gives the garment a 3D effect, and the silk and golden threads give a beautiful shine. Heavy embroidery makes is almost 4.5kg in weight.
Woven in smooth silk, also lined with silk.
The embroidery is very fine, ornate and of very high quality.
The inside of the Kimono has a bright red silk lining to make a nice contrast with the gold outside.
