Important Ceremonial Sword used by the Kota, Mbete, Kele, Mbamba peoples who live in Gabon.
Iron blade, wooden handle entirely covered with yellow copper.
The blade presents a central ridge on the top, extended by a little depression, giving the illusion of 2 levels, until the tip; there are 2 fullers on the top left part, on both sides.
Good condition, with traces of wear, oxidation and antiquity, quite usual for these sorts of weapons.
Both sides of the weapon are in quite similar condition (blade and handle). With a few smaller stains of stronger oxidation on one of the sides of the blade. Are included 2 little Daggers of similar craftsmanship, with the handles entirely covered with copper.
Similar weapons are reproduced in several books about this subject, including: Ames de formes, formes de lames - Luc Lefebvre (last picture).
