Textile (1) - Cotton - Baoulé - Ivory Coast
In good condition, with signs of wear.
Old loincloth called Kita, from the Akan ethnic group.
The Akans are spread between Ivory Coast and Ghana.
This loincloth comes from the Baoulé ethnic group, exclusively located in Ivory Coast.
The loincloth is woven in the traditional way, in bands about 10 cm wide, which are then sewn together.
Old and usual loincloth collected by me, in a Baoulé village.
All the items for auction have been worn.
There may sometimes be signs of wear, partially unstitched bands, or shades slightly altered by age.
The loincloths offered were nevertheless selected one by one, with great care and attention.
